Refresher - Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Training

Course outline

This one-day course enables Health and Safety Representatives to remain abreast of updates and changes in safe work practices.

HSR annual refresher training is a flexible alternative for re-elected HSRs to maintain their safety knowledge and skills.

The course covers updates to legislation, a revision of HSR roles and responsibilities, and an opportunity to network and share valuable HSR experiences.

The refresher training program sets the scene for continued training opportunities as part of the HSR 10-day training entitlement for re-appointed HSRs.

Topics covered

• Review and learn about any amendments to WHS legislation
• Reconfirm duties and responsibilities of officers and workers
• Review powers and functions of HSR’s
• Risk management process
• Purpose and function of a PIN
• Increase your awareness of the significance of health and wellbeing risks at work

Who is this course for?

This course is for re-elected organisational Health and Safety Representatives.

HSRs are required to bring their HSR ID to training. A HSR ID is obtained via Safework SA.
