What you need to know about selling to the Australian Government

Earlier this year, the South Australian Business Chamber participated in a consultation with the Australian Government to ensure South Australian businesses remained informed and can be competitive in procurement opportunities. 

The Future Made in Australia Office, within the Department of Finance has recently made a comprehensive set of updates to the Selling to Government website, to help make it easier for local businesses to do business with the government.

From advertising to cleaning services, engineering, office equipment, training, project management, research and recruitment — Australian Government organisations buy a wide variety of goods and services from local businesses.

The Department of Finance’s Selling to Government website provides information to support businesses understand how to participate in Australian Government procurement and contracting opportunities, including:

  • Where to find opportunities to sell to the Australian Government
  • What rules and processes do Australian Government organisations follow when procuring goods and services
  • How to respond to an approach to market
  • What to expect if you are awarded a contract.
