South Australian property owners can now update their Emergency Services Levy (ESL) and Land Tax billing addresses online through RevenueSA.

The SA Business Chamber continues to advocate directly to government and, through the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, for simple, secure, digital services that save businesses time and reduce errors.

RevenueSA’s long-awaited move to real-time verification and online updates is another small step in practical red-tape reduction that will hopefully speed up processing and cut down on rework for property owners and their advisers.

What’s new

RevenueSA has refreshed its online Billing Address Update form with:

  • Secure user verification to protect your information.
  • CAPTCHA for safe access.
  • Real-time updates so changes show immediately.
  • Real-time address validation via the Quick Address System (QAS) to confirm your new address is deliverable.
  • An option to go paperless and receive assessments by email.
  • The ability to tailor how assessments and notices are addressed and issued for your ownership.

Any billing preference changes will apply to both your Land Tax Assessment and ESL Notice.

What you’ll need

When you complete the form in RevenueSA Online, have these details handy:

  • A valid email address you can access (for authentication), and
  • The name of at least one landholder on the ownership, and
  • Your ownership number (on your Land Tax Assessment or Notice of ESL Assessment)

Alternatively, you can provide either:

  • The assessment number for one of the properties in the ownership, or
  • The address of one of the properties in the ownership

If you own land under multiple ownerships, you will need to complete a separate form for each ownership you wish to update.

Got a red-tape fix?

Small process improvements add up. In addition to our bigger red tape reduction initiatives, our Policy Team is always looking for examples of practical fixes to take to government to reduce red tape and speed up processing.
