US Tarriffs

The South Australian Business Chamber is aware of the growing concern among exporters following the US Government’s sudden decision to impose a 10% tariff on Australian goods. This move, coupled with the unpredictable current US trade policy and its impact on global trade arrangements, is creating real uncertainty for businesses trying to plan and operate in an already complex market.

We understand the challenges this poses — disrupted supply chains, rising costs, and shifting export dynamics — and we’re actively advocating on your behalf. Together with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), we’re pushing for the removal of these tariffs and fairer treatment for Australian exporters. While ACCI leads discussions at the Federal level, we are focused on ensuring South Australian businesses have a strong voice in national advocacy efforts.

To help businesses understand the implications of these changes, Austrade is hosting a free webinar tomorrow — Navigating US Tariffs: Rules of Origin.

We encourage businesses to share how these tariff changes are affecting operations — your input is critical to shaping our advocacy.
