Dealingwithdifficultsituations

The world is an interesting place that has a great variety of people, personalities, and situations. At various times, these human interactions can result in difficult situations and conflict.

Statistics indicate 47% of working Australians rate issues in the workplace as a source of stress, which count for a 49% increase in absenteeism. Advice firm Gallup found in 2022, 48% of Australians reported high levels of stress at work, making them the second most stressed-out workers in the world.

The Saratoga Institute reports 80% of staff turnover is related to unsatisfactory relationships with the boss. Co-worker tensions can account for up to 80% of workplace difficulties.

Being able to effectively respond to difficult situations will help you to navigate challenging situations and personalities, with strategies that maintain professionalism in the face of adversity.

The South Australian Business Chamber has developed a new course to help employers and employees to deal with these unavoidable and difficult situations, providing insight into what drives these difficult situations, understanding our human reactions to difficult situations and what impact this has on individuals and the business itself.

Being able to understand conflict, your own conflict management style, the emotional aspects of conflict, and learning how to become a better communicator, will help you to develop conflict management strategies, that enable a confident and assertive approach to ensure a mutually beneficial resolution.

Empower yourself and your team to be more proactive and professional when dealing with difficult situations. Make the choice to turn challenging situations into growth opportunities.
