World Health and Safety Day is an annual event celebrated on 28 April highlighting the importance of creating a safe and healthy work environment for employees. 

The day which was made official by the United Nations serves as a reminder for employers and employees to prioritise workplace safety and take necessary steps to prevent accidents and injuries.

The theme for this year’s World Health and Safety Day is Anticipate, prepare and respond to crises — Invest in resilient occupational health and safety systems”. This theme emphasises the importance of building resilience in the face of unexpected events, such as natural disasters, pandemics, and other crises that can impact the health and safety of workers.
