Premier Peter Malinauskas has announced a new-look cabinet as a result of a reshuffle triggered by the resignation of Geoff Brock last week.
The refreshed ministry, which the Premier says is a “modest adjustment and reflects the big opportunities upon the state”, includes the movement of Space and Defence Industries to Treasurer Stephen Mullighan.
The South Australian Business Chamber said in a statement that incorporating Defence and Space Industries into Treasurer Mullighan’s portfolio is a strategic decision aligned with our state’s priorities.
“We hope the Treasurer’s oversight of these critical sectors will enhance their commercial and economic contribution, bolstering South Australia’s future prosperity”, said the Chamber.
Other business-focused adjustments include Joe Szakacs’s move to the Trade and Investment portfolio, taking over from Nick Champion.
Champion will now head a super housing portfolio, a combination of Housing and Urban Development, Housing Infrastructure and Planning.
