In this new section, we introduce the people behind the star, who work every day to support our members. Get to know our team and learn how they help local businesses like yours succeed.

This month, we introduce one of our Program Leads, Tahlia Cummings, who oversees the delivery of our entrepreneurship and business growth programs.

Q1. Tell us a little about yourself and your role at the Chamber

A. I lead the delivery of our business programs at the Chamber, making sure they’re practical, relevant, and genuinely helpful for businesses at every stage — from idea through to growth.

Q2. What do you enjoy most about your role?

A. I really enjoy working closely with business owners and hearing their stories — understanding where they’re trying to go and helping them get there in a practical, meaningful way.

Q3. How do our programs — like the Early-Stage Entrepreneurs Program, Business Fundamentals, and Growth Accelerator — help businesses at different stages of their journey?

A. We meet businesses where they’re at. Early-stage programs help shape ideas and build strong foundations, Business Fundamentals strengthens core skills, and Growth Accelerator is all about scaling — strategy, systems, and sustainable growth.

Q4. What is one common challenge you see business owners face, and how does our program support them?

A. A big one is feeling overwhelmed or unsure what to focus on. Our programs break things down into clear, actionable steps and provide expert guidance so they can move forward with confidence.

Q5. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone considering joining one of our entrepreneur programs?

A. Just start. You don’t need to have everything figured out — that’s exactly what the program is there to help with.
