The Commonwealth Government has established a new information standard under the Australian Consumer Law for seafood sold in hospitality settings, effective from 1 July 2026.
The labelling will use the ‘AIM’ model, categorising seafood as Australian (‘A’), imported (‘I’), or mixed (‘M’) origin.
Hospitality businesses must label seafood on menus and signage to ensure compliance with the new standard.
Transition Period and Support
A transition period allows businesses time to adapt to the new requirements.

Support Amidst Algal Bloom
