The South Australian Business Chamber Director of Policy and Advocacy Kendall Crowe says that now is the time for South Australia to fall in-line with the national position around close contacts.
“We are releasing the results of the South Australian Business Chamber William Buck Survey of Business Expectations – March Quarter on Tuesday 26 April, however we knew we needed to share these close contact results early because the business community needs these to be gone.
“In the March quarter survey, we wanted to get an idea of how many working days had been lost due to either staff having COVID or staff being a close contact.
“Over two-thirds reported that they had lost up to 20% of their working days during the March quarter due to staff having COVID. This resulted in the business running short-staffed, and nearly half of businesses had to get staff to work overtime to cover the shortages.
“Over half of businesses reported that the close contact rules have impacted a lot or a great deal with many closing down or reporting a reduction in services.”
The full results of the South Australian Business Chamber William Buck Survey of Business Expectations — March Quarter will be released on Tuesday 26 April 2022.
