The Chamber is calling on South Australian businesses to provide input on a critical policy review that could impact your operations, costs, and risk management.

Since 2018, the cost and number of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) claims have risen significantly, placing greater financial and administrative burdens on businesses. ReturnToWorkSA is now reviewing NIHL policy to ensure it remains fair, effective, and sustainable.

Your feedback will help shape changes that could directly affect:

  • Your business’s risk exposure – Reducing NIHL risks in the workplace
  • Your claims costs and premiums – Improving claims management processes
  • The efficiency of dispute resolution – Reducing unnecessary legal and administrative costs
  • Access to services for workers – Ensuring a fair and streamlined system
  • Scheme forecasting and liabilities – Creating a more predictable and stable system

Why Your Input is Crucial

Businesses bear a significant portion of the costs and responsibilities associated with NIHL claims. This consultation is a chance to ensure that future policy changes support employers, keeping compliance practical and costs manageable while maintaining fair support for affected workers.

How to Provide Feedback

A consultation brief has been prepared, outlining key policy concepts for review. Your insights will directly contribute to a report to the Minister on NIHL policy improvements.

Submit your feedback on the ReturnToWorkSA website by Wednesday 9 April 2025.

For more information, contact stakeholderrelations@rtwsa.com.

Your business’s voice matters — this is your opportunity to influence fair, balanced, and effective NIHL policies that impact your workplace. Don’t miss the chance to have your say!
