The State Government has committed $20 million in the 2024 – 2025 State Budget for Round 2 of the Economic Recovery Fund, aiming to support up to 8,000 eligible small businesses and not-for-profit organisations in investing in energy-efficient equipment or other improvements to reduce or manage energy costs.

The Office for Small and Family Business has released preliminary information on the grants, which will open for applications in August 2024.

The scheme allows eligible small businesses and not-for-profits to apply for grants ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 in matched contributions. These grants can be used to purchase new equipment or make energy efficiency improvements, with the final cost subsidised by up to 50%.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to businesses that consume less than 160 MWh of electricity per year.
