Last year the South Australian Business Chamber identified a critical issue with the $650 energy rebate for small businesses. We found that businesses on embedded networks (who receive their bill from a landlord, rather than a retailer) were not receiving this rebate.

We brought this to the attention of State Government, which quickly responded and promised to extend the energy rebate to these businesses. Unfortunately, the administration process took much longer to finalise than initially anticipated. The Chamber maintained pressure on the State Government to find a resolution and we are pleased to announce that the roll out of the energy rebate for businesses on embedded networks commenced on 29 May.

Embedded network operators can now apply for the rebate from an electricity retailer on behalf of the eligible small businesses on their network. Small businesses will then receive the rebate via the itemised account from their embedded network operator.

If you have not received a rebate, please contact your landlord or embedded network operator and ask them to complete the application form available here.

If you have any enquiries, please contact the Office for Small and Family Business on 8429 3801. The Information Line is available from 9:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays).
