Adelaide will host the 2023 Horasis India Meeting over 26 – 28 November at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The global meeting offers an ideal platform for senior business leaders from India, Australia and the world to explore and foster cooperation, impacting investment, and sustainable growth.
The three-day event will feature two days of dedicated programming centred around innovation and development of sustainable emerging markets with a particular focus on the facilitation of meetings with Indian innovators and entrepreneurs to explore beneficial new ventures, using Adelaide as a hub to invest in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
The third day of the conference will provide delegates with the opportunity to observe first-hand the innovation and development of sustainable business in South Australia, with a discover Adelaide’s Innovation Hub Tour that will visit some of South Australia’s leading innovation locations.
Horasis originally formed in 2005 by Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter, is a conference synonymous with bringing highly influential groups of business leaders together, with meets in USA, China and India – the opportunity to host now in Adelaide is a huge opportunity for the South Australian business community.
The event this year was made possible by a new collaborative partnership between the South Australian Business Chamber, South Australia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Invest SA, the newly formed investment attraction arm of the Department of Trade and Investment.
Invest SA’s Executive Director, Chris Wood says “This is the first time a Horasis think tank has been held in Australia and we hope this partnership will lead to future Asian summits being held here in Adelaide.
“This will act as a global platform where we can promote South Australia’s competitive advantages and attract investment to help further develop our industries.
The South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said that Horasis India comes at an ideal time for the state. “Both India and South Australia embrace hi-tech and high-added value manufacturing which is critical to increasing our economic complexity.
“Our leadership in renewables and the emergence of our defence, space, and bio-med sectors will all be of interest to the delegates.
“As Australia and India look to leverage the newly signed trade agreement (AIECTA), events such as these place South Australia in an ideal position to create new trade and investment opportunities”, Mr Malinauskas added.
The Confederation of Indian Industry will co-host the summit and it is expected that high-ranking Indian government officials will be in attendance.
