20+ Initiatives To Reignite The CBD

As announced following a special council meeting in late January, the City of Adelaide handed down a comprehensive list of measures to support businesses and encourage people to return to the CBD.

With restrictions easing and mad March in full swing, businesses in the 5000 and 5006 postcodes are encouraged to find out what support is available through Reignite 2.0.

Initiatives include:

City Business Saver Grant
This grant supports micro and small businesses in the city that COVID-19 restrictions have impacted. Eligible businesses can apply for a cash reimbursement equivalent to 50% of the third quarter 2021 – 22 financial year rate.

Temporary Parklets
Expand your outdoor dining capacity by making the most of underutilised footpaths or temporarily expanding onto the road using one of our parklets.

Streetside Activation Grant
City and North Adelaide businesses can apply for up to $5,000 grant funding to expand their offerings outdoors and onto the footpath, street, or parklands.

The City of Adelaide also offers no cost’ on-street parking on weeknights (after 6.00pm) and weekends to encourage more people to visit the city.
