This week the third instalment of the South Australian Business Chamber’s Business Resilience series was launched to provide critical information to SMEs on JobKeeper Payments. With more than 740 people tuning in to watch the webinar, the South Australian Business Chamber is confident that the series is providing valuable insights to local employers to assist them in navigating the pandemic.
The webinar’s expert panel consisting of Andrew Heard — Director of Heard Phillips Lieberenz, John Chapman — Small Business Commissioner and Lauren Krollig — Senior Consultant at the South Australian Business Chamber, covered crucial information on the Federal Government’s $130 billion JobKeeper scheme including eligibility, legal obligations on employers and crucial changes to the Fair Work Act.

Webinar attendees included the South Australian Business Chamber member and business owner, Josh Baker, who is in the process of re-opening his local café hot spots Part Time Lover and Whistle and Flute as result of the scheme.
Mr Baker said finding out more about the JobKeeper Payment via the South Australian Business Chamber’s Webinar allowed him to better understand how to use the scheme in order to re-open his businesses. Both cafes will re-open on a part time basis with regular trading hours resuming once the pandemic and government restrictions settle. The temporary scheme is making it possible for local operators like Josh to remain open, which assists in maintaining local economies.
