Upskilling Through Traineeship Incentives and Support
Kate, Owner of Myponga based Smiling Samoyed Brewery, is reaching her goal of upskilling across her business. This has been made possible by several State and Federal Government incentives released over the last 12 months.
With a total of 5 trainees out of 27 employees, the entire Smiling Samoyed team is benefiting from the sense of purpose that is achieved through banding together to share their knowledge, with trainees working across all facets of the business. This has also inspired the entire team to go back to basics with the trainees, to impart deeper knowledge in the team and to reflect on and improve procedures in the business.
Kate describes the experience of onboarding trainees, some who were existing employees of Smiling Samoyed, as simple with assistance provided through her Apprenticeship Support Provider (in SA these are MAS and MEGT).
With more incentives to take on an apprentice or trainee now than ever before, it is important to understand the benefits that it has for your business, and just how simple it can be.
The South Australian Business Chamber’s Benefits and Hurdles of taking on an Apprentice or Trainee workshop will run for all businesses in South Australia using a successful hybrid event model.
The workshop will give businesses to discuss perceived hurdles and lean about the incentives available as well as the resources and support available to all South Australian businesses.
