The South Australian Business Chamber Today

State Regulatory Framework Enquiry

The South Australian Productivity Commission is conducting an inquiry into the State’s Regulatory Framework to cover a range of matters including to ensure legislation (and policies and codes where relevant) works to best support growth in investment, productivity, and employment; and institutionalise ongoing improvement and good practice by the state’s regulators – e.g. ReturnToWorkSA, SafeWork SA, and ESCOSA.

The Inquiry will consider:
- regulation directed at businesses with a focus on start-up, expansion, and entry into interstate or overseas markets;
- regulators and regulations impacting businesses across the whole economy or businesses involved in the South Australian Growth State plan industries; and
- better practice regulatory systems, drawing on the work of the OECD, reforms in SA and other jurisdictions.

An issues paper has been developed by the Commission and further information can be found on its website.

The South Australian Business Chamber will shortly provide a submission to the inquiry. If you feel strongly about this and would like your views included, please contact Kendall Crowe, Senior Policy Adviser by Tuesday 25 May, 2021 on kendall.crowe@business-sa.com or call (08)8300 0000
