Stage 2 – What Business Owners Need To Know

From Monday 1 June Stage 2 of the State Government’s plan to ease social distancing restrictions will commence. This means:

• Hospitality venues can welcome up to 80 people at any one time IF density and social distancing requirements can be maintained in groups of no more than 20 patrons.
• Pubs can serve alcohol without meals however, patrons must remain seated.
• Theatres and cinemas can seat up to 50 people. 
• Contact sport and training is to resume. However, competition for contact sport will resume 25 June 2020. Conversely, competition for non-contact sport will resume. 

The South Australian Business Chamber commends Premier Steven Marshall’s decision to accelerate stage 2 to kick-start the State’s economy. The South Australian Business Chamber also congratulates SA Health on the outstanding public health statistics achieved as a result of their comprehensive public health advice.

With that being said, now is not the time to be complacent. Business owners have a duty of care to uphold not only for their customers but also for their staff. The South Australian Business Chamber strongly encourages all business owners to create and implement a COVID-Safe Plan to keep their workplace clean and safe for all to return.
