The SA government has announced the easing of border restrictions and the implementation of Stage 2.5, which will see venue capacity limits increased from tomorrow.
The Premier has also announced that stage 3 will be brought forward from 3 July to begin instead on 29 June.
Social distancing restrictions deployed in stage 2.5 will remain the same as stage 2, but with larger capacity limits.
Stage 2.5 sees the room capacity limits of 20 people per room increased to 75 people per room with a venue capacity limit increased from 80 people to 300 people. However, the one person per four square metre rule will remain.
Stage 3 will remove the capacity limit for venues. Nevertheless, density limits will still apply, this being the one person per four square metre rule. The South Australian Business Chamber continues to advocate strongly on your behalf to remove this rule and replace it with something more workable for majority of businesses such as the one person per 2 sqm rule, which is being used in WA.
South Australia has also this week re-opened its borders to the NT, WA and Tasmania following the South Australian Business Chamber’s calls to the Government to open a Centre-West Travel Triangle with the NT and WA immediately.
Unrestricted travel from all States and Territories to SA will begin from 20 July.
This means the mandatory 14-day quarantine for interstate travellers will cease for all new arrivals into South Australia.
Importantly, international travel restrictions will remain until further notice.
