The South Australian Business Chamber Corporate Member Shop Local SA is an exclusively South Australian online marketplace established to support South Australian businesses and communities.
Amanda and the team established Shop Local SA shortly after the pandemic hit South Australia in 2020. When SA shut the borders and businesses across the state were forced to close, they could not sit back and watch the small business community crumble. Many had no e‑commerce solution and no idea where to start, and those that did were unsure how to market their site to get traffic.
In response, Shop Local SA was launched as an e‑commerce solution to help businesses. Technical support was available for this collaborative model of selling together. This collaboration solved the challenge of driving traffic.
“Collectively, we work together with local businesses to build a South Australian online shopping destination that helps everyone — including customers who really want to support local and need an easy way to do so,” says Amanda.
“And now, in 2022, Shop Local SA is a thriving community of local businesses that can sell to anyone wherever they are, whenever they want.“
