Case Studies

South Australian businesses have powerful stories to tell — and now is the time to share yours. Whether you’re leading your industry in innovation, showing resilience through tough times, or solving problems in creative ways, your experience could help shape the bigger picture.

The SA Business Chamber Policy Team is often contacted by researchers and conference organisers that are actively seeking real-world examples to bring reports, presentations, and events to life — and your business could be the perfect fit.

By contributing your story as a case study, you’ll gain more than just exposure. It’s an opportunity to showcase what sets your business apart, amplify your brand, or influence the future of policy and practice. Case studies open doors to meaningful conversations, new networks, and well-earned recognition — both within South Australia and beyond.

We currently have two short-notice invitations for case studies on-hand, and it would be great to see as many South Australian businesses represented as possible.

Industry Climate Change Conference 2025 – Submit before 2 May 2025 (pre-conference) or 30 May 2025 (post-conference)

As part of South Australia’s Industry Climate Change Conference 2025 on 8 – 9 May 2025, the Department for Environment and Water is highlighting the innovative work happening across our state to reduce emissions and build climate resilience.

The conference organisers are inviting industry leaders, businesses, and organisations to submit a case study that showcases how you’re taking action on climate change.

Selected case studies will be featured in the lead-up to and following the conference – including through the Department for Environment and Water’s website, Climate Action e‑newsletter, social media channels, and a post-conference resource kit shared with attendees.

Submissions of case studies will be considered, in two rounds:

  • By 2 May 2025 – for case studies to possibly be featured in conference communications
  • By 30 May 2025 – for possible inclusion in the post-conference publication

Transitioning from Gas to Electricity – Nominate by COB 5 May 2025

Energy Consumers Australia have engaged ACIL Allen to identify the barriers that small businesses face to move from gas to electricity.

ACIL Allen is looking for 5 small businesses with less than 20 employees, that either:

  • currently use gas and either cannot or don’t want to electrify
  • are part way through the transition from gas to electricity
  • have successfully ceased using gas through electrification.

The research team is particularly keen to talk to a manufacturer, baker, professional services organisation or commercial laundry, or any small business that fits into one or more of the following categories:

  • one small business that uses a wok for cooking
  • a business that operates within an embedded network
  • one business that rents its premises
  • a business that could financially justify electrification but chose not to proceed for other reasons
  • one additional business that fits a unique or complementary profile.

The case study would likely take less than an hour and would be via an interview with the researchers based on a guide that would be provided in advance.

If you or someone in your network would like to participate, please email Cathi Buttfield, Senior Policy Adviser at cathi.buttfield@sabusinesschamber.com.au by COB 5 May 2025 to be connected with the researchers.
