Following in the footsteps of South Australian Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (SAYES) alumni Dan Mendelson and Rob Dean, co-owners of Burger Theory and world-renowned artist Emma Hack, is Artifax’s Edward Hayter.
The young Adelaide-based industrial designer was setting up Artifax, his lighting-design business when he heard about the SAYES program via Guildhouse, an arts networking hub.
While his vintage-inspired Cornetto Light has already captured the attention of online retailers and private clients, he wants to expand his product range with the view to opening a retail and online store.
Edward chose SAYES to bring his big ideas to life and “learn how to build my business from scratch,” he said.
“The mentors give you a business insider’s viewpoint which has given me more confidence as a business owner. Learning how to market my product has also been very beneficial.”
If you’ve got a bright idea and want to see how far it could grow, applications are now open for our SAYES program, and ENCORE for people aged over 35.
By attending monthly workshops on business fundamentals delivered by industry experts, participants will learn how to create a comprehensive business plan and a sustainable business model.
Participants are allocated a dedicated mentor who will nurture and guide you throughout the program with monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions.
