SafeWork SA Compliance Campaign – Psychological Risks

SafeWork SA has advised the South Australian Business Chamber that a compliance campaign to monitor WHS systems in relation to psychosocial risks in the workplace will be commencing during March 2021.

Every business can be affected to some degree by work-related psychosocial risks including bullying, harassment, and environmental factors, all of which can have a significant negative impact on individuals in the workplace. Like all work health and safety (WHS) hazards, these risks need to be managed in accordance with WHS legislative requirements.

Workplace management and control of psychosocial risks associated with psychological injury must be included in a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking’s (PCBU’s) risk management processes.

To ensure PCBU’s have adequate safety systems implemented at the workplace, SafeWork SA Inspectors will be auditing several selected South Australian workplaces. The purpose of these audits is to assist, guide and ensure that risks to workers psychological health arising from inappropriate workplace behaviours are being appropriately managed.

If you need assistance with you WHS systems – call the South Australian Business Chamber today on (08) 8300 0000 and speak with one of our Senior Consultants.
