Next time you buy a box of Haigh’s 750g or 1.25kg chocolates or a bottle of Rockford or Torbreck wine, take a closer look at the bespoke packaging they come in and the level of craftsmanship in each box. Created by Box Biz, located in Woodville North, this family business has a passion for quality packaging. From custom-made packaging, to the slip-case for the Harry Potter series of books, boxes are big business for Box Biz.
Albert Rea is the proud director of Box Biz, which he has owned and operated for 15 years with his wife Scarlett. Originally from the UK and Burma, the couple were moved to South Australia more than 20 years ago.
While Albert had no experience making boxes prior to Box Biz, he has always had a penchant for presentation packaging, and as a child was more interested in the toy boxes than the toys themselves. When the Stalley Box Company came on the market after almost 70 years of production, Albert and Scarlett jumped at the opportunity to acquire a manufacturing business with the opportunity to expand nationally.
Albert also acquired a box manufacturing business in Marrickville, NSW to aid expansion, and an established book-binding business in Adelaide, to broaden his market, and ships his range of locally-manufactured products Australia-wide. Box Biz also produces everything associated with boxes, including presentation folders, slipcases, and menu covers.
