Next time you visit the SAHMRI building, shop at Elizabeth Shopping Centre or take your kids to the Frank Hilton Reserve playground at Maslin Beach, take a look at the contemporary landscaping created by the South Australian Business Chamber member, Adelaide Innovative Landscaping.
Established in 2014, AIL works with architects, engineers and developers to create commercial landscaping solutions – in other words, creating green spaces for buildings, schools, shopping centres and more.
AIL is the team responsible for greening and revitalising many of Adelaide’s civic landmarks such as the University of South Australia’s Health Innovation and City West Campus, the Ukaria Cultural Centre at Mount Barker and the Hallett Cove Library.
More educators are recognising the educational benefits of nature play, meaning AIL’s green thumb is in demand for local schools, early learning centres and childcare centres. Concordia College, Prince Alfred College and Sir Thomas Playford Kindergarten are just a few of the educational facilities which showcase AIL’s innovative landscaping constructions.
Director Tony Locampo says landscaping brings energy to a space.
“Once you add landscaping to a bare site, the people who use it are full of appreciation — that’s what we love about the work we do.”
