South Australian industry leaders from the Farming, Motorsport and Mining Sector, will all be in the same room next month to celebrate being finalists at the South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards.
Now in its second year, the South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards ceremony will celebrate the state’s top businesses, recognising those that have excelled over the past 12 months.
With more than 185 businesses entering this year’s awards, and 316 nominations across 26 categories, selecting finalists has been no easy task.
In the coming weeks, we will be featuring standout finalists who are nominated for awards at our Gala Dinner, taking place at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday, 11 October.
Willoway Farming– Finalists: Family Business of the Year
The Willoway Group was founded in 1998 when Ben and Anthea Brinkworth purchased their first property at Willalooka, just south of the township of Keith, in the South-East of South Australia.
Willoway Farming Pty Ltd is the newest addition to Willoway Group, being incorporated in 2020 with the key objective of better identifying the Willoway Group’s livestock and irrigated cropping interests outside of the lucerne production.
This operation expanded significantly following the passing of Ben’s father Tom in late 2020, with a portfolio of properties moving from Tom’s estate to compliment Ben & Anthea’s own interests. As the custodians of this significant portion of Tom’s estate, not unlike their initial approach to the lucerne seed industry, Ben and Anthea have immediately set about a major investment program.
This program is aimed at enriching properties whilst expanding production across the aggregation. This investment program is substantial in both value and scale and anticipated to take more than five years to complete.
Supashock – Finalist: Manufacturing and Advanced Materials Exporter of the Year
Supashock is a world-class producer of advanced mobility, motion and autonomous systems that control, monitor and improve the efficiency and capability of defence, commercial, automotive, motorsport and other transport vehicles.
Following a successful 25-year motorsport engineering career, Supashock’s CEO Oscar Fiorinotto has led the Supashock team to diversify in product, capability and industry since he founded the business in 2005.
The rapid growth, awards, patented technology and impacts on local economy have seen Supashock grow to become a highly recognised success story in South Australia and abroad.
MaxMine – Finalist: Beyond Border Business of the Year
MaxMine was founded in 2016 to help overcome challenges in the mining industry.
Existing mining technology, like Fleet Management Systems (FMSs), gather some relevant data that helps with mine management, but they have limited abilities to help mines optimise their productivity and sustainability.
Through a unique combination of proprietary technology, high resolution data and industry experts, MaxMine unlocks a deeper level of insight and more optimisation opportunities than possible with legacy technology, and actively partners with mine production managers to turn this insight into action and achieve long-term and groundbreaking levels of productivity, safety, and sustainability.
Tickets for the South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards Gala Dinner are now on sale. This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses across the state to come together, network, and celebrate the remarkable achievements of South Australian enterprises.
Even if you’re not nominated, we’d love to see you join the celebrations.
