Undertaking the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Year 3 course offers significant benefits for experienced HSRs who want to deepen their impact and leadership in workplace safety.

  • Strategic influence: Year 3 focuses on advanced consultation, negotiation, and leadership skills — empowering HSRs to influence safety policy and culture at a strategic level.
  • Complex risk management: You’ll gain tools to assess and manage complex or emerging risks, such as psychosocial hazards, contractor safety, and multi-site coordination.
  • Legal and regulatory updates: The course often includes updates on WHS legislation, case law, and regulatory trends — keeping you current and compliant. Understanding and conducting internal audits.

Need support with Training for elected HSRs?

At the SA Business Chamber, we provide Safework-approved training for HSRs who are elected by their peers to represent them on health and safety issues.

HSR Year 3 Training is a 2‑day course for HSRs who have completed their second year of training and are in their third year of office.
