Key Dates For HSR Training With the South Australian Business Chamber

The South Australian Business Chamber provides Health & Safety Representative Training throughout the year. Whether you have been recently elected or have been in the role for several years, we run programs to help HSRs comply with workplace health and safety obligations. Year one and two HSR training programs are available in April for eligible candidates. For information about the different programs available, see below.

Year 1 – Training Program

For newly-elected and/or re-elected HSRs, the five-day introductory workshop provides an understanding of WHS legislation and compliance, while equipping HSRs with the fundamental skills and confidence to identify and resolve workplace health and safety issues. Safework SA subsidies are available for this course. The South Australian Business Chamber offers these programs at several convenient training locations and in regional areas. Book now as places are limited.

Year 2 – Training Program

For elected HSR’s that have completed the first-year training and are in their second year of office, this training program prepares you to effectively and constructively represent your work group or committees in health and safety matters. HSRs are legally obliged to identify reasonably foreseeable hazards that may put staff to be at risk. The South Australian Business Chamber will help health and safety representatives identify and mitigate hazards. The three-day program is offered in several convenient locations and in regional areas. Book now as places are limited.
