The third instalment of the South Australian Business Chamber’s Business Resilience Webinar series will break down what employers need to know about the Federal Government’s JobKeeper Support package.
The package will provide a wage subsidy to approximately 6 million workers who will receive a flat payment, through their employer, of $1,500 per fortnight before tax.
The payment will ensure eligible employers and employees stay connected while some businesses move into hibernation. This connection will enable businesses to reactivate their operations quickly – without having to rehire staff when the crisis is over.
The Webinar will provide business owners with a clear pathway for decision making when deciding whether to retain staff through JobKeeper payments or to consider alternative measures.
During the Webinar, a panel of industry experts will discuss whether these payments are a viable option in terms of cashflow and how best to approach the re-hiring process. The session will also cover what employers should do if measures for business shut down have already taken place.
The Webinar will focus primarily on SMEs across a range of industries with a duration of 45 minutes with 15 additional minutes for audience questions.
The South Australian Business Chamber will roll out more webinars in this series over coming weeks to ensure local businesses can weather the economic storm that is COVID-19 and bounce back.
