The South Australian Business Chamber Today — Thursday 10 June, 2021
Is Mentoring for Me?
Legacies of business owners are becoming lost as a change of times means that fewer businesses are being passed on through families.
As an online world of ‘gurus’ and ‘business experts’ grows by the day, entrepreneurs are being exposed to huge amounts of information on the do’s and do nots of business, but this does not come close to the benefits of true one on one mentorship.
As experienced entrepreneurs, that have truly been there and done that, business owners have a wealth of knowledge that offers rewarding results if shared.
At a recent gathering of the South Australian Business Chamber mentors, over a few wines, amazing stories were shared of the impact that is had on impressionable new business people through simple conversation of past experiences.
The South Australian Business Chamber is hoping to grow it’s already large network of 70 plus business mentors, looking for experienced business people to volunteer their time to assist the next generation of entrepreneurs through our SAYES, ENCORE and CULTIVATE Kangaroo Island programs.
In this light touch, high value position, successful mentor applicants will be matched with a program participant that is keen to succeed in a similar industry of the mentor’s expertise, with a monthly meeting to ensure their business plan is in progress, is all we ask as part of this program.
Your experience could help define someone’s future. If you think this might be for you, please get in touch with Jade, Manager – Entrepreneur Programs on jade.henschke@business-sa.com
