Recently, the Government of South Australia has announced four support payments for businesses impacted by the reintroduction of restrictions.
These payments include:
Tourism, Hospitality, and Gym grant — automatic payment
Tourism, Hospitality, and Gym grant — turnover based payment
Business Hardship Grant – December 2021
Major Events Grant – December 2021
The Tourism, hospitality and gym grants provide an initial automatic payment for businesses that has already received grants in the July lockdown and prior. Businesses can then also apply for a further grant if they can prove that turnover has declined 30% in the two weeks beginning 27 December to 9 January.
This grant provides funding from $1,000 for non-employing businesses and up to $10,000 for employing businesses. Businesses located in the CBD will be eligible for an additional $1,000.
The Business Hardship grant is for any business that aren’t eligible for the Tourism, Hospitality, and Gym grant but are still significantly impacted by the reintroduction of restrictions. Businesses have to demonstrate that their turnover has declined 50% in the two weeks beginning 27 December to 9 January.
This grant provides funding from $2,000 for non-employing and up to $6,000 for employing businesses. Businesses located in the CBD will be eligible for an additional $2,000.
The Major Events Grant is in its third iteration and is for businesses that have had to cancel or postpone events above 1,000 people in period between 27 December 2021 to 27 January 2021.
