The South Australian Business Chamber Joins Premier's COVID-19 Council

The South Australian Business Chamber is pleased to have a voice on the newly formed Premier’s Industry Response and Recovery Council through the South Australian Business Chamber CEO, Martin Haese.

One of 14 industry groups represented, the Council is meeting weekly to brief the Premier on issues facing businesses and to discuss areas requiring crucial actions.

The South Australian Business Chamber will ensure member concerns are raised with the Premier’s Council while issues facing our business community are addressed where possible by the State Government.

Weekly Council meetings with the Premier present an opportunity to collaborate across all industries to ensure the economic survival of SA. It allows for swift decision making to take place to help save livelihoods and ensure South Australians are supported through the crisis. The Council is determined to ensure South Australian’s emerge from this crisis stronger and more resilient than before.

Both Martin Haese and the Premier have stated the importance of working together and utilising shared experience and expertise to protect as many industries, businesses and local jobs as possible.

The Council will be advising the State Government on the second instalment of the economic stimulus – a $650 million Jobs Rescue package to be rolled out over the next six months in an effort to soften the economic bombshell of COVID-19.
