The Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Year 2 course builds on the foundational Year 1 training and offers several important benefits for both the individual and the workplace.

  • Advanced skills development: Year 2 training deepens your understanding of risk management, incident investigation, and consultation techniques — making you a more effective HSR.
  • Confidence in complex situations: You’ll be better equipped to handle challenging safety issues, engage in root cause analysis, and contribute to strategic safety planning.
  • Leadership growth: The course fosters leadership capabilities, helping you influence workplace culture and advocate for safer practices with greater authority.
  • Enhanced risk mitigation: With more skilled HSRs, workplaces benefit from improved hazard identification and more robust safety controls.
  • Stronger consultation culture: Year 2‑trained HSRs are more confident in facilitating discussions between workers and management, leading to more inclusive decision-making.
  • Compliance assurance: Advanced training helps ensure that safety practices align with legislative requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuous improvement: HSRs with Year 2 training can contribute to ongoing safety audits, reviews, and improvement initiatives — driving long-term change.
