The South Australian Business Chamber has announced the opening of nominations for the South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards in 2025, following two years of success since the program launched in 2023.

These awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution of our local businesses to South Australia’s social, environmental, and economic success.

With recognition spanning a diverse array of categories, including Family Business of the Year and Indigenous Business of the Year, a total of 13 business award categories and 15 export award categories are now open for nominations.

This year sees the introduction of two new categories, the First Nations Exporter award and the Workplace Culture and Wellbeing Award Business award.

All nominees for category awards will be eligible for two major awards, the South Australian Business of the Year and South Australian Exporter of the Year, to be presented by the Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas at the black-tie Gala Dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 29 August 2025.

Winners of export award national categories will automatically be entered as finalists in the Australian Exporter Awards, held in Canberra in November 2025.

Premier Peter Malinauskas said the awards recognise some of the most resilient and hardworking businesses in South Australia.

SA businesses should be proud of their achievements over the last year, amid a raft of global and domestic challenges,” Mr Malinauskas said.

For example, our state’s export value in February 2025 climbed 36 percent above pre-COVID highs in 2019. “

This deserves to be celebrated, so I encourage businesses to consider nominating for this year’s awards.”

South Australian Business Chamber CEO Andrew Kay, expects an increase in nominations in 2025, following the success of this event over the past two years.

The feedback from the finalists has been that the night was a celebration beyond their expectations and that they have benefited from this acknowledgement in their marketing and communications,” Mr. Kay said.

The Premier’s Business and Export Awards has quickly built a reputation as the pinnacle of business awards in our state, and we encourage everyone to nominate and if not, to be in the room on August 29 to celebrate business excellence in South Australia.”

Ben Brinkworth, Founder of Willoway Farming said, Winning the Premier’s Family Business award in 2024 was a real honour and provided Willoway Farming with a new recognition from our suppliers, buyers and the regional community.”

It also gave us the confidence to continue our improvement program, and most importantly, it demonstrated to Willoway’s staff that their efforts and hard work over the past four years are both noticed and rewarded”, he added.
