As a small business owner I have been managing and operating for 2 ½ years and believe the skills, knowledge and experience I have in business planning, marketing, business relationships, operations, event management, employment and 23 years in vocational education and training would suit the role of an Encore mentor. I strongly believe in, and see this as an opportunity to provide support; share fresh and inspiring ideas; engage in professional development and contribute/give-back to community and small business through mentoring in this program.

Areas Of Expertise
  • Business planning, purchasing, budgeting, marketing
  • consultation with team and suppliers
  • implementing logistics such as POS, pricing, WHS, Food safety
  • developing relationships and promotion with local and small business
  • organising meetings and gatherings; facilitating events
  • Training staff and supporting students, disability, work experience and employment placements
  • Mentoring small business 'entrepreneurs' and start ups through events held at the cafe and Southern Business Connections
Qualifications & Achievements
  • Qualified, accomplished and experienced Vocational, Education, Training (VET) Practitioner and Designer.
  • As a Professional Development Consultant and Senior Project Officer (formerly DFEEST) I assisted business/services and registered training organisations with information, up-skilling and workforce development needs. My previous roles have also included:
  • coaching and mentoring individuals/groups (f2f, workshops, on line) including COAG and Quality Directorate industry projects and training programs
  • developing confidence and capability of individuals and teams in a comfortable, reflective environment to review performance, programs and practices and coordinating professional development
  • supporting existing, or retrenched workers within the community, major industries (eg Bridgestone) and businesses to access training, education and employment
  • RPL Assessment and up skilling City of Onkaparinga Administrative teams: Certificate II, III and IV in Business
