The South Australian Business Chamber is pleased to bring together a panel of high-profile financial experts, including Australian Banking Association CEO, Anna Bligh AC, at a free webinar for business owners tonight.

Unburdening Your Business Financially from COVID-19 is part of the South Australian Business Chamber’s Recovering from COVID-19 webinar series and is proudly supported by Employers Mutual Limited and BankSA.

The South Australian Business Chamber CEO, Martin Haese, said the Webinar would provide business owners with practical advice on how to survive while sales are flat.

To survive the COVID-19 storm, what businesses need right now is cash,” Mr Haese said.

The South Australian Business Chamber understands that cash flow has never been tighter for businesses, which is why we are pleased to partner with the Australian Banking Association, BankSA and William Buck on this very important webinar to deliver practical, how-to advice for our businesses owners who are struggling financially following significant downturn in revenue from COVID-19.

In our recent the South Australian Business Chamber-William Buck Survey of Business Expectations for the March quarter, only 51 per cent of businesses said they had sought banking support in the form of additional finance or deferral of payments.

The main reason given for not seeking banking support was a lack in confidence to borrow more.

The South Australian Business Chamber’s Unburdening Your Business Financially from COVID-19 Webinar will ensure that businesses can maximise the measures introduced by the Federal Government and RBA to unlock low cost finance to help with recovery from COVID-19.”

Anna Bligh AC, CEO Australian Banking Association, encouraged businesses to attend.

With the unprecedented shutdown as a result of the pandemic creating significant shocks across the economy there has been a surge of interest from businesses affected on what banks can to do provide support,” she said.

Banks stand ready to throw a lifeline to SA businesses who are doing it tough through this COVID-19 crisis to help them to stay afloat and keep locals in work.

Today’s webinar is an important chance to outline what banks are offering, which includes measures such as a 6‑month deferral on existing loans to small businesses and also are making extra credit available through the SME Loan Guarantee.”

Unburdening Your Business Financially from COVID-19 Webinar will be held online tonight from 6pm-7pm.

Presenters will be taking questions during the live Webinar, which will also be available to watch on demand.
