All business owners who hang out their shingle for the first time do so with optimism, a vision for the future and a goal to forge their own economic destiny. But it’s rarely an easy path to follow and experienced help is often needed.
From 2020, in recognition of the need to see growth in the South Australian economy, the South Australian Business Chamber will focus on partnering with business owners over the life cycle of their enterprise. Chief Executive Martin Haese said that under the new 2020 – 23 Strategic Plan, the South Australian Business Chamber would reshape its offer through market-leading innovative products and new services to help all businesses – from start-ups to organisations with thousands of staff.
“The South Australian Business Chamber will next year become the first chamber of commerce in Australia to offer a business brokerage and growth advisory service working with owners over their business life cycle to grow, save money, reduce risk and build stronger financial outcomes.” Mr Haese said.
“We recognise that the business environment is extremely dynamic, and as South Australia’s peak business body, we need to help our members, clients and the wider business community to strengthen trade and commerce across our entire state. To do that more effectively, we too must change.”
The new strategic plan is aimed at helping the business community strengthen the state’s economy through strategic partnerships, consulting and growth advisory services, multi-channel delivery of services, and growing our export and migration activities.
Mr Haese said the 2020 – 2023 Strategic Plan involved delivering services across multiple channels so members could benefit without having to leave their offices in the metropolitan area or regional South Australia.
“The South Australian Business Chamber is committed to providing training and learning for the 21st century, including streamlined options for our South Australian Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (SAYES) which has run for 21 years, and our Encore, Regional SAYES and Export Ready programs.”
“We will be strengthening our consulting and advisory services because we recognise that workplace relations, occupational health and safety and human resources have never been more complex than today. The South Australian Business Chamber will help deal with the complexity of running a business, so our members can focus on growth.”
The South Australian Business Chamber has long advocated for population growth and the need to boost the state’s economy through skilled migration and will also build on its migration and export services to attract more people and better support businesses wanting to go global.
“The South Australian Business Chamber is here to help businesses grow, and to do so, we will strengthen our relationships with local councils, industry bodies and associations in every sector. These relationships are critical to ensure businesses get support when they need it most.”
