A new partnership formed by the South Australian Business Chamber, Whyalla City Council and Whyalla Business and Tourism will assist local businesses to thrive and grow in 2021 and beyond.
In the form of a 12-month business growth program, Whyalla City Council will be providing up to 150 local small businesses with access to the full array of services available from the South Australian Business Chamber and Whyalla Business and Tourism.
These include the Business Accelerator Program; grants and tenders support; staff employment assistance; and seminar / webinar and networking opportunities; among a host of others.
The South Australian Business Chamber CEO Martin Haese says: “This program is designed to help Whyalla’s small business community to not only remain viable, but expand, generate additional income, employ more people and help the local economy thrive.”
“The South Australian Business Chamber is highly committed to the regions. Whyalla is an important part of South Australia and has been through its fair share of trials. I can’t wait to get to work with Whyalla City Council and Whyalla Business and Tourism to really make an impact on local business.”
City of Whyalla Mayor Clare McLaughlin says, “We regularly discuss the need to diversify our economy, and what better way than by supporting our existing local businesses to excel.”
“This program presents a great opportunity to increase local employment while boosting the local economy, and council is making it even more accessible by providing significant subsidies for eligible participating businesses.
“We hope this will create an ongoing connection that generates growth and stimulus for years to come.”
Whyalla Business and Tourism Chair Malcolm McLeod says “This is a great opportunity for Whyalla businesses to experience the considerable range of support services that the South Australian Business Chamber and Whyalla Business and Tourism can offer.”
“Local business owners will be exposed to a level of expertise and support like never before, and will be able to focus on what they do best – running their business, serving the community and making profits – without needing to get bogged down and stressed over areas of their business that these experienced bodies specialise in.”
“Together with Whyalla Business and Tourism’s local knowledge and support networks, plus council’s support and drive, this program really puts business owners in a great position for growth.”
The program will be officially launched in Whyalla on Thursday 2 September 2021 at the Mirambeena Motel.
