For the first time in South Australia’s history, the South Australian Business Chamber will deliver Health and Safety Representative training online, allowing businesses to continue to access this important training during the COVID-19 shutdown.
The South Australian Business Chamber’s expert trainers will simulate a face-to-face classroom with the course delivered as a facilitated webinar.
The South Australian Business Chamber Executive Director of Employer Solutions and Programs, Jenny Briggs, said the online HSR training ensures businesses can keep their wheels turning during COVID-19.
“We are also excited to be the first approved Health and Safety Representative training provider to make the full suite of Health and Safety Representative programs available in an online delivery format,” said Mrs Briggs.
“More than 4,000 South Australian businesses have chosen us to provide Work Health Safety training to their staff and we have trained more than 6,500 Health and Safety Representatives.
“We now look forward to taking our skills and expertise into the digital space to help businesses maintain their Work Health and Safety obligations.”
The Health and Safety Representative suite of training courses are delivered over a three-year period, providing 10 days of training to elected representatives. The SafeWork SA approved programs provide representatives with the powers to issue PINS and assist in maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.
City of Mitcham Chief WHS Officer, Josephine Baker, said she was looking forward to continuing her HSR training in the South Australian Business Chamber’s online program.
“To be able to complete the HSR training online gives us much more flexibility, especially when working from home now,” she said.
“It also means we can keep our training up to date even during the COVID-19 shutdown.”
SafeWork SA have authorised the South Australian Business Chamber to deliver HSR training online with the courses to be run from 30 April – 30 June. The South Australian Business Chamber will resume face-to-face HSR training once Government health safety restrictions have been lifted.
