International think tank Horasis will hold its first-ever Australian summit in November this year at the Adelaide Convention Centre as part of a collaborative partnership between the South Australian Business Chamber, South Australia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Invest SA, the newly formed investment attraction arm of the Department for Trade and Investment.
Horasis India will see 250 Indian business leaders from across the globe, congregate in Adelaide for a three-day trade and investment conference.
Horasis was formed in Zurich in 2005 by Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter and brings together highly influential groups of business leaders to discuss collaborative approaches to addressing sustainable growth.
Dedicated to the innovation and development of sustainable emerging markets, Horasis holds flagship events around the world such as the Horasis Global Meeting, as well as regional summits focusing on China, India, and South-East Asia.
The South Australian Business Chamber CEO Andrew Kay said hosting Horasis India presents a great opportunity for South Australian business. “Horasis events are world-class and attract leaders operating at that level.
“We will be able to showcase local business and investment opportunities to influential groups from one of the world’s fastest-growing economies”, said Mr Kay.
Invest SA’s Executive Director, Chris Wood says “This is the first time a Horasis think tank has been held in Australia and we hope this partnership will lead to future Asian summits being held here in Adelaide.
“This will act as a global platform where we can promote South Australia’s competitive advantages and attract investment to help further develop our industries.
The South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said that Horasis India comes at an ideal time for the state. “Both India and South Australia embrace hi-tech and high-added value manufacturing which is critical to increasing our economic complexity.
“Our leadership in renewables and the emergence of our defence, space, and bio-med sectors will all be of interest to the delegates.
“As Australia and India look to leverage the newly signed trade agreement (AIECTA), events such as these place South Australia in an ideal position to create new trade and investment opportunities”, Mr Malinauskas added.
The Confederation of Indian Industry will co-host the summit and it is expected that high-ranking Indian government officials will be in attendance.
