The South Australian Business Chamber tackles its own COVID-19 case

Wednesday, 1 December 2021

The South Australian Business Chamber held a private event in the function area of its own building last night. SA Health notified us this morning that a fully vaccinated guest has tested positive to COVID-19.

Following the notification by SA Health and in an abundance of caution, the CEO Martin Haese, has asked that all the South Australian Business Chamber staff get COVID tested. It is intended that the majority of staff will return to the office once they receive a negative result.

As the peak body for business in South Australia, businesses have been looking to the South Australian Business Chamber for leadership.

This is why the South Australian Business Chamber is informing the business community about exactly what we have actioned today.
The South Australian Business Chamber acted swiftly, leaning on its own COVID Vaccination Workplace Policy released on 23 November. This policy gave us the confidence to take action. While it was a big decision to make to require all staff to get a COVID-19 test, it was the appropriate decision.

Our staff have been fully complying with SA Health requirements and giving them all of the necessary information including registration lists, and COVID check-in status.

Our team will continue to support our members online until which time each of their individual test results are determined.

We understand that this might be a concerning time, and we will continue to communicate with you all as we learn more.
